NetBSD 2.0.3 is the third security/critical update of the NetBSD 2.0 release branch. This represents a selected subset of fixes deemed critical in nature for stability or security reasons. All fixes in security/critical updates (ie., NetBSD 2.0.2, 2.0.3, etc.) are cumulative, so this latest update contains all such fixes since the NetBSD 2.0 release. These fixes will also appear in future releases (NetBSD 2.1, 2.2, etc.), together with other less-critical fixes and feature enhancements. Download locations are here.
Just getting better and better
Just installed 2.0.2 a few days ago.
So far everything’s going smooth. I decided to give NetBSD a try after FreeBSD 6.0 RC1.
Now if you want to impress your friends, let them see NetBSD doing 11-12 megabytes per second with 36% CPU on a good ol’ P3/500.
(with Intel 10/100 NICs and the default generic kernel)
NetBSD Team, if i had a hat, i’d take it off. Good work!
The NetBSD crew seem to be going at a good pace. I’ll have to try this version out. The last version I tried was 1.6.1 a while ago, so I’m quite curious about the 2.0 series. I think OpenBSD is sposed to get released tomorrow too, so thats another BSD I can try.
Actually there is a whole lot going on in the *BSD world this week. Check out distrowatch.com; on their weekly news letter.

Here is a small snips from the above link:
———————————————————————- —–
“With all major Linux distribution releases of the season now safely behind us, the focus can turn to the BSD family of operating systems, with several significant new release expected shortly. In fact, the ISO images of NetBSD 2.1 have quietly hit the NetBSD mirrors over the weekend, although they have yet to be formally announced. These are soon to be followed by an updated release of NetBSD 2.0 series, version 2.0.3 and, of course, the much awaited major new release, version 3.0, scheduled to reach a release candidate status in November.”
———————————————————————- ——-
“FreeBSD 6.0 is also expected to be released any moment now. That’s according to this message by Scott Long on the FreeBSD current mailing list:”
———————————————————————- ———-
“Last but not least, it’s release time for OpenBSD as well. The favourite operating system of many security professionals will hit version 3.8 on Tuesday as part of its usual twice-per-year release cycle.”

Ok, maybe not that small of a snip.
Awesome, thanks for the information. You now get +1
You now get another +1 ;^)
Great news OS fans!
If you check the NetBSD mirrors, you should find that the version 2.1 ISOs are already available for download.
Just pick your platform and download. Torrents are also available.
