According to an entry in Windows 10 20H1 Build 18936, Microsoft has started working on a new change that would hide the legacy Edge browser when ChromiumEdge is installed. A new entry titled ‘HideUwpEdgeFromAppListIfWin32EdgePresent’ has been spotted in Windows 10 20H1 and the function could be enabled with third-party tool Mach2, but it does nothing at the moment.
Microsoft seems to be really aggressive with this endeavour.

Makes sense though. If they’re sensibly aggressive with getting the new Edge as the primary (read ‘only’) browser on new versions of Windows, that gives them a solid cutoff point for support for the old codebase.
Yet again I find myself facing sadness. I liked edge. I can’t remember the last time I used Chrome. On 10 I use Edge and Firefox. On Mac I use Safari and Firefox. Now I’m only going to have one browser on 10? Microsoft finally had a working, lightning fast browser. And then it was gone. :’(
