That’s very sad news. It’s a sad reality that a lot of the pioneers of our industry are reaching the point where they have led full lives. It’s nice to think that their contributions will leave behind a legacy that many will continue to embrace and enjoy well into the future.
Vim is my text editor of choice! At home, at work, and on my phone.
It feels so strange every time I’m reminded that the computer and video game industry is still so young that many prominent people are still alive today.
Don’t know what to say.
Vim has been my favorite for decades, and when forced to use another tool, I can’t function well without at least some vim emulation.
Sad to see one more go.
Bram was on my list of people who have created stuff that I like and use, that I want to personally buy a drink for if I ever met them at a conference or got around to visiting where they live.
It’s no longer possible to directly thank him for vim, so now I definitely must help poor children in Uganda.
