Earlier this week, Microsoft started rolling out the Moment 4 update for Windows 11. The update also included Windows Copilot, a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) that replaces Cortana and offers to perform certain tasks for the users.
However, if you are not interested in having additional bloatware on your system then there are ways to
remove ordisable Windows Copilot on Windows 11. The steps will depend on whether you have Windows 11 or Windows 11 Pro.
As far as I can tell, this only hides Copilot – it doesn’t actually remove it. If you want to actually remove Copilot, go here or here and follow the instructions.
Let me guess, You have to tinker with the registry ? I wouldn’t mind any of this stuff if you just had the ability to switch it off in the settings or uninstall it easily.
I just wish they would switch from this aggressive forcing stuff on us and start making stuff so good we actually want it and install it voluntarily. Currently on my windows machines the only thing I install from Microsoft without them pushing it on me is Visual Studio.
I was amused by your links Thom, I had a feeling of what they would be, I just wish we could all use Linux for everything but work dictates what OS I sometimes use.
I agree with Mark, including being amused by the links to remove Copilot. Unfortunately, there are a couple of programs I need to use that just do not and probably never will run on Linux.
