I missed out on the Organiser II, but as soon as I saw the Psion 3a I knew I wanted one, followed by a 5MX and a Revo. Through OPL they taught me that for something to be a real mobile computer, you have to be able to program on the device itself.
From what I understand the line from Psion through to the iPhone goes beyond just inspiration. For example Ken McAlpine, Engineering Director at Psion, went on to become Director of Engineering at Apple. David Tupman, hardware engineering manager at Psion, went on to become VP of hardware engineering at Apple.
