“The latest release of GNOME is here: GNOME 2.16.2! This is the second release in a series of point releases for the 2.16 branch. Come and see all the bug fixing, all the new translations and all the updated documentations brought to you by the wonderful team of GNOME contributors! While development continues on the GNOME 2.17/2.18 road, we didn’t forget about making a new release that is rock solid. And simply better than the previous one.”
Does this include a fix for the infamous Nautilus 100% CPU usage bug?

Which one?
I think what I like about Gnome is how nice the applications are now. The Desktop from a UI perspective looks great. I love the way it blends nicely with XFCE4 to make a hybrid desktop you can customize to your heart’s content. The new snazzy message notify system is cool. I noticed rythmbox is using it now to display song titles when they change. I almost feel like I am on a mac yet but not quite since it didn’t cost me a cent!

It already did that in 2.14.
Yes, it’s been fixed.
I just found myself using and enjoying very much Gnome after thinking I was a KDE fan…
Almost the same happened to me. I helped a friend coming from windows to install ubuntu edgy, he liked gnome more than kde, so after some hours spent on the 2.16 gnome I found it quite nice.
Wish I could get the C++ bindings to compile in Gentoo. Being a real pain.
every week they release a new release.. 2.16 is out for a while and only some distros already has it. why gnome is so complicated?
I’ve tried it and all I can say is it is great, good job GNOME developers.
GTK2 on the balls, “you know” that third arm down their with the grape fruits. LOL
i hope this will fixe all the mess around gnome-vfs2 (really buggy and slow on 2.6.16.1)
