MorphOS 2.0 got an official release date estimation now. According to the news section at the official MorphOS site a public release is estimated for Q2/2008. This release will support at least all computers by Genesi, such as the Pegasos 1 & 2, as well as the Efika.
I held my breath and went blue the last time ‘estimates’ were given for release dates.
I really hope for the projects sake that this is the real deal.
(Cant wait!)
/me takes a deep breath
April 1st passed by without a fake Amiga OS announcement… what a wasted opportunity!
The Amiga community does no need special days to be fooled. A Inc. can do this whenever they like.

R&B
This is not the only Amiga based April fool’s joke.
On Amiga.org it says that Opera was ported (back) to the Amiga for OS4.
MorphOS and the Efika are just the dream team. I am pretty sure it is able to convince to go for gold at the FTF.
Hope that 2008 Second Quarter release date is for real…
I am bored to stay with MOS 1.4.5 which does not support my Pegasos Firewire port, does not support my 1GBit Ethernet port (just only normal 10/100) and has not support for PPC ALTIVEC instructions.
Pegasos user are waiting since 1 year and a half.
I bet we could wait almost to 2nd quarter of 2008, if the products is so good as we spotted from the online videos showing MOS 2.0 running on Efika boards.

You’re already in Q2 2008…
That’s Q2 2008 Amiga-like. That means 30th of June 2008. Or, more exactly, that means you’ll get something on 1st July 2008, which will be a “In 2 weeks”
No offence to MorphOS devs – I couldn’t resist the joke, but it doesn’t mean I’m not happy MorphOS 2 is still being developed.
