He candidly admits to Nokia’s past shortfallings, such as lack of integration between services, poor user experience, and Nokia’s long lack of focus on the American market, and hints at what it is doing to rectify them, including the planned launch of a co-branded AT&T/Ovi app store.
Yeah, go Nokia, stick with that tried and true ‘The customers love to get the shaft from their cellphone carriers and we’re enabling them to pay their carrier for that shafting in exciting new ways!’ business model.

The way of sticking with the carriers has proven to be successful in the majority of countries in the world (good or bad depends on ones perspective). Carriers tend to market the devices and to offer different plans for different segments of the market in each country.
As an example, in US people tend to get a new phone not by paying the whole price of the phone but by lingering with some “plan” for years. Same as in Argentina, Germany and so on…
Apple grew up with that and also Nokia and other companies…
The only thing Nokia should be focusing is more on content agreements for its own store. Apple will gain market by offering easy to download/use/consume, at least in US.
