“This release includes 6 months of development that provide major enhancements and new features over the LLVM 2.8 release. LLVM 2.9 includes much better optimization and code generation than LLVM 2.8 (particularly for modern ARM targets), improved support for C++’0x in Clang, and a much more mature LLDB.”
Kudos to LLVM dev team! I hope this release would be shipped within OSX Lion final this summer (in the rest of the world, while here in NZ now getting quite cold. The winter is coming!)
I’d like to put forward a motion that all companies when referring to seasons for release dates use southern hemisphere seasons to avoid any confusion.
And you’re right… it is getting cold

Majorly off-topic, but I was under the impression that people from the southern hemisphere still named the seasons as we do. So that, for example, you still called the June-August period ‘Summer’, even though it’s cold.
Am I wrong?
Yes you are!
June-August is winter here in Australia.
Xmas is in summer, though Santa is still fully clothed despite the usual 40C/100F+ heat waves.
etc.
Summer = warmer, Winter = cooler in most places in the world, so we are currently in Autumn (Fall) here in Australia, the northern hemisphere is in Spring.
The only places that don’t really care about seasons seem to be near the equator. They have a wet season and dry season. I spent a bit of time in Malaysia and pretty much every day is 32C and hot
Even Antarctica has a Summer and Winter…
Iz rlly nuthin, but ai jus haz 2 say dis: teh winterz iz nut liek teh sumerz.
