Apple’s released a whole bunch of point releases today – iOS 9.2, watchOS 2.1, and tvOS 9.1. These are all relatively minor point releases focused on bug fixes, so don’t expect your experience to change in any drastic or meaningful way – unless, of course, one of the fixed bugs affected you.
You know where to get them.
OS X 10.11.2 has been released as well.
1.9 GB for a minor OSx update.
People have been bashing windows for their background updates, but when it comes to OSX they are not better either..
AFAIK there are no background installs on OSX without the users consent.
The size on the other hand… yeah, it’s ginormous.
There are no background installs but, unless you’ve turned them off, OS X updates will download in the background just like iOS updates do. You always have the option to install or not, however, which is a far cry from what Microsoft gives you these days.
You think that’s bad, try over 2.5 gb for a minor Xcode update.
It seems like while Apple does their best to slim down iOS updates, the OS X minor updates keep getting larger. I remember when a combo update, to go more than one minor OS X version, was only a few hundred mb. Apple need to get their game together here, for both OS X and Xcode.
