It’s pretty much a given that the primary announcement will be the iPhone 7, reportedly with no analog headphone jack, possibly no physical home button, and hopefully with 32 GB storage in the base configuration. According to the rumor mill, the primary technological advance for the new iPhone will be a new camera system. There’s some speculation that a new Apple Watch will be announced, but in my opinion what the Apple watch needs most is better software (upcoming in the WatchOS 3 release). The Watch has been pretty satisfying as a gadget, but ultimately disappointing as a platform, and a new hardware version is unlikely to reverse that trend. Many Mac fans are hoping that a new Macbook Pro will be announced, but there doesn’t seem to be any concrete evidence of that, other than the fact that it’s been so long since the last real MPB redesign. The rumors are based, I suspect, on wishful thinking. However, if Apple releases an updated Macbook Pro with an OLED touchscreen and Intel Skylake, people would be lining up to buy them. Apple’s custom is to make its primary OS announcements at WWDC and focus on new devices in the fall, but I’m sure we’ll get a bit of an update on iOS 10 and possibly WatchOS3.
32 GB RAM in a phone? That’s a pretty big jump, and more than my desktop has, in fact.
We’re truly in post-PC era now.
…
vault,
Lets add more RAM, because why not. But for me personally, I wish we could hold back on the upgrades for a while to focus more on the basics, like battery life.
Suspect it’s not RAM but onboard storage.
flanque,
Could be, I don’t know what the source was for that info. 32GB storage would be inline with my expectation. A microsd slot would be nice also, but I don’t see apple ever going back to featuring user replaceable components.
Yeah, I’m truly getting pissed off when people call (even if it’s by accident) the storage as RAM.
I do find it funny that it’s basically being said that the iPhone 7 is removing features rather than adding them. Just silly that there will be people just sucking ’em up though.
Why would they have 32GB of storage though, don’t the iPhone 6/s/plus all come with 64GB or more?
My iPhone 6 is the 16GB model, and now I wish I’d gotten the 32GB. I don’t even have music on my phone, but apps are getting huge and I take tons of photos. I started running out of space a few months after I got it.
Sorry, I said RAM, though I meant storage.
Currently the iPhone comes with: 16, 32, 64 and in the plus 128
I am hoping they nix the 16GB.
The products will be exactly the same as before…except 0.1mm thinner and with fewer connectors.
If only Apple focussed on important and substantial things like developing better CPUs and GPUs. One can only dream.
Which planet are you on? They have custom top perf cores packed with powerful GPU. A10 is expected to be on par with Intel’s latest microarchitecture.
Methinks the original poster was going for irony. Settle down before you have a heart attack.
Doh! My irony-meter was definitely broken today =)
No problem -irony is hard to do with just text, in real life its usually helped by subtle facial expression or voice tone. I don’t like using emojis with irony though because they seem a bit like canned laughter if you know what I mean.
Apple sell low/mid-range hardware in fancy housings at premium prices. The flagship iPhone 6s Plus hardware is arguably no better than models selling for 1/4th the price (Moto G4, Oppo F1 Plus etc).

updated Macbook Pro with an OLED touchscreen and Intel Skylake
I don’t see the point of touchscreen on laptop. It is moronic unless you can convert it to tablet.
Also OLED is fine for 1-2 year product like smartphone, but not for laptop that is expected to work for years without screen degradation.

Apple don’t want your laptop to last for years. They want to buy the brand new model with the 5% faster CPU and Rose Gold colour.
Hey! I like rose gold.
